Wat Yangangwaram

.

.
How to get there?
.
Wat Yangangwaram is located 15 Km from Pattaya. Take  Sukhumvit Road in the direction of Satahip - Rayong till a little after the Ambassador Hotel. On your left hand side you will see a sign telling you to turn left for the Wat. From there just follow a nice road through the country side. You shall find
it after about 3 Km.
.

.
You can easily spend 3 to 5 hours  walking around and visiting all the 'sala' and the museum. You can also plan to visit the Wat while on you way to or back from Nong Noch Village  (Suan Nong Noch) which is just a few kilometers farther away on Sukhumvit.

The wat lay in a large park with a dozen 'sala' spread around the lake. Of course there are also shops and food stalls. Wat_sala.JPG (4385 bytes)

Sala Viharasien
.(50 baths entrance, same price for thai and non-thai's)

Wat-musee.jpg (8952 bytes) When you arrive, you will see on your right a large Chinese construction. It is the Sala Viharasien of great interest. It is a museum which homes a collection of 328 antics given by the Chinese government to the King Bhumibol as well as Thai artifacts and a large collection of sculptures mostly inspire by Chinese art. Some of the new sculptures are truly Thai and not less interesting. Don't miss the 19 shaolin martial arts fighters - Really impressive !

The museum included also some specimen of the famous Terra Cotta Warriors of Emperor Qin Shi Hung which has been discovered in the Chinese province of Xian  in 1976. As far as we know, it is you only chance to see the real specimen outside of China.
